To be effective, Virtual Assistants must have a solid understanding of how their emotions and actions affect the people around them. The better a VA relates to and works with others, the more successful they will be.
Take the time to work on self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social
skills. Working on these areas will help you excel in the future!
Emotional intelligence, also called EQ, is the ability to be aware of and manage emotions and relationships. It’s a pivotal factor in personal and professional success.
IQ will get you in the door, but it is your EQ, your ability to connect with others and manage the emotions of yourself and others, that will determine how successful you are in life.
In just about an an hour, you will be able to:
- Understand what emotional intelligence means
- Recognize how our emotional health and physical health are related
- Learn techniques to understand, use, and appreciate the role of emotional intelligence in the workplace
- Understand the different emotions and how to manage them
- Create a personal vision statement
- Understand the difference between optimism and pessimism
- Validate emotions in others

Your Instructor
Tamra Schnyder is a Graphic Designer passionate about developing graphics, photography, logo design, advertising, corporate identity, branding, and illustration.
Drawing on her experience as a small business owner, she strives to bring a unique and inventive outlook to her creative endeavours. Focusing on the customer, and listening to what they want, collaborating with them to make their business engaging and identifiable.
Tamra also uses her experience as an Instructor and Course Creator to bring knowledge to people in an easy to understand formula.
Tamra is a member of the Graphic Designers of Canada. She lives in Calgary, Alberta with her partner and fractious cat. She enjoys gardening, table-top role playing games, and cooking.
